“Lancia Delta S4” is the first book ever published about this great car.
The authors Vittorio Roberti & Luca Gastaldi were able to write the full story of the original Abarth’s project SE038, from the beginning to the very last competitions.
The title of the new work is simply "Lancia Delta S4", perhaps because there is little to add to a name that immediately evokes emotions, adrenaline and pride for an Italian construction at that time represented the state of the art about refinements technological. The S4, in addition to being the first 4x4 Fiat Group (with the exception of off-road and industrial vehicles Campagnola), sported an engine equipped with twin turbocharging mixed with volumetric and turbo compressors. In the book is treated in a comprehensive and exhaustive whole history of the model from a blank sheet to the last sporting success.
Nearly 400 pages, over 1000 photographs (many of which are absolutely unpublished) and dozens of technical illustrations (made by Camillo and Alessandro Cordasco) to describe the evolution and the differences between the road and the racing version.
There are testimonies of the protagonists (by Cesare Fiorio Miki Biasion, through other lesser-known but critical to the birth of S4), the "race preparations", the characteristics of the prototypes and the final versions, the detailed history of each individual chassis and much more. Virtually everything in a real bible on this famous Lancia become a legend.
