Immediately after the war, 50 cc mopeds enabled many people to become motorized and revolutionized mobility.
One brand particularly embodied this change, Motobécane, which christened its new moped the Mobylette.
This very name became commonplace and defined all these 50 cc models, whose success spread from the 1950s to the end of the 1980s.
They flourished in the ranges of all manufacturers, French as well as European and Asian.
Some would become cults: from the famous Bleue Motobécane to the thundering black Vélosolex S 3800, via the surprising Honda Dax and Monkey, or the phenomena of the 80s, Peugeot 103 and Motobécane MBK 51 Super.
And finally, the legendary Piaggio Ciao, with which many young have roamed our roads for years!
