This is the first book, and at the same time the first complete account, of the extraordinary racing car which thrilled and continues to thrill everyone lucky enough to see it.

1951-1953 : it was the UFO season and the car's flattened shape led to being named the "Flying Saucer". The Carrozzeria Touring had perhaps never before dared so much, nor with such free hand, in modelling masses and forms, volumes and profiles, with such a degree of confident and audacious creative intuition.

The coupรฉ is even prettier, perhaps, predating as it does the brilliant shape of Jaguar E-Type.

The author, the engineer Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni, tells the fascinating story of that adventure, with his father Felice and the his friend, the lawyer Gaetano Ponzoni.

The volume includes beautiful new images archive, an amazing color portfolio and specifications of the cars produced. The text, as often in the books of Automobilia, is in three languages, Italian, English and French: a feature that enhances even more the work.

Founded in Milan in 1979 by Bruno Alfieri publishing house Automobilia ("Society for the History and the image of the Automobile") publishes since the eighties numerous essays and reasoned catalogs on the most famous car: Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Mercedes , Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari in particular, thanks to Enzo Ferrari. In the coming years he founded the magazine "The Great cars" (1983-2005) and "FERRARISSIMA" (six-monthly review 1984-2006) is considered the best review on the house of Maranello. Later the "Lamborghini Review" (1988-1991) and "Zuffenhausen" dedicated to the Porsche brand (2005-2006). Of this magazine come out only two issues given that in 2006 the publisher definitively closed with the disappointment of many motoring enthusiasts who for years have collected publications. So many of these are very hard to find and sought: For availability and price visit our website.
