The 24th of April 2013 marked the 30th anniversary of Rolf Stommelen's death, in 1983, as he was competing on an IMSA race in Riverside, onboard of the Porsche 935 "Moby Dick". The German driver was 39, and was considered as one of the most skilled, versatile and passionate drivers of his generation. Almost every two weeks, he was competing in a new race, that he almost always won at the end of the weekend. It could be the 24h of Daytona with Porsche, the 1000km of Nürburgring, the DRM, the Temporada or the Targa Florio at the age of 23, he won almost everything, and raced for the most prestigious manufacturers like Alfa Romeo, Ford, Porsche and Toyota.
With 304 pages and more than 350 pictures, this book pays tribute to the German driver. It comes back on his racing career, but also on his life, while his widow Marlene Silvester contributed very much to this work and his old colleagues and friends tell stories about their moments spent with Stommelen.
