This book tells the story of Marco Papa, and like him, of all those who, amidst a thousand difficulties, have worked hard to achieve their goal, fuelling their exploits with an inexhaustible passion.
The author describes the determination and enormous sacrifices of this "private" rider, who tragically died in a car accident on 9 September 1999.
The career path is simple and fascinating, from the beginnings, on the Magione circuit, to the first successes in the various Italian championships.
There is also a rich part dedicated to the long period spent in the Gp 500 world championship, riding the different bikes he competed with: Patton, Librenti, Honda and Cagiva.
Marco's results led him to be considered the best private pilot in the Gp 500 class, sometimes collecting more than the bikes he rode allowed.
The pages are full of stories and anecdotes, most of them unpublished and unknown to enthusiasts; from the use of tyres used by other riders in tests, to the economy of engines worn out by thousands of kilometres.
The book is also enriched by colour photos that bring up memories of the legendary competitions of the 1980s and 1990s and of the Gp500, fearsome but fantastic motorbikes with their fierce two-stroke engines.
