Pasquale Placido was born in Naples on 14 September 1921 into a well-known family of lawyers and doctors. He became a cavalry officer and graduated in law, but his impetuous and instinctive nature led him to feel and live life as a perpetual adventure.
He sought out challenges: horses, cars and motorbikes were his constant passions, to which he added, in his maturity, his love of the countryside and animals, which led him to run the family farm, revolutionizing it.
This volume, with extensive and previously unpublished photographic documentation, recounts the sporting activities of this gentleman from Calabria, who during the 1950s, at the wheel of rare and beautiful sports cars (Stanguellini, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lancia, Maserati) participated, even with some important successes, in the automobile competitions that took place on the beautiful roads of the South.
Edited with dedication by his daughter, Marinella Placido, and enriched by technical notes by Alessandro Silva, the book is aimed at fans of historic motoring and enthusiasts of local events.
